HIP-HOP SUMMIT YOUTH COUNCIL, WITH “THE PEOPLE’S SHARK” DAYMOND JOHN AND POWER 105.1 LAUNCH THE HIP-HOP CORONAVIRUS AWARENESS PROJECT (H-CAP)
The Initiative Was Created To Enlighten Students and Young Adults About The Dangers of COVID-19 and Create Solutions To Help End The Pandemic
The Initiative Will Also Address Social Promotion and Make Sure Students Are Academically Prepared For The 2020-2021 School Year
In an effort to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus, the Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council will launch the Hip-Hop Coronavirus Awareness Project (H-CAP). The purpose of this initiative is to work with elected officials, the private sector, government, and not-for-profit agencies to educate and update citizens about the “Symptoms & Dangers” of the virus and how our government is dealing with the crisis. We will also discuss “Preventive Solutions” that offer “Holistic Healing” and “Immune System Enhancement” that can: (a) prevent citizens from contracting the virus; (b) cure those who are infected; and (c) reduce the number of cases and deaths in the U.S.
It is also important that our children, youth and young adults, understand the safety policies implemented by the Mayor, Governor, and President, which will be enforced by law enforcement agencies. In addition, through our “Hate The Weight” Challenge, we want to encourage students and all Americans to focus on how eating healthy and exercising can contribute to building a strong immune system. An educated citizen is the best way to defeat the Coronavirus, so let’s work together to protect seniors, as well as enlighten students and young adults about what they can do to fight and beat this deadly virus. Over the next several months we will address the following:
12 WAYS TO ADDRESS THE VIRUS
- History and Facts about the Virus
- Getting Tested and How to Protect Yourself
- The President’s Guidelines for America
- Elected officials, Policies and NYPD Enforcement
- Protect your Home and Office
- Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Patient Care
- Social Distancing and Facts about the Virus
- The Virus and Travel, Businesses, and the Economy
- School, Childcare, and the Criminal Justice System
- Is there a Cure?
- World Health Organization (WHO) and what role they play
- Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the role they play
There will be videos, flyers, interviews, reports, newsletters, contests, social media, special events, and online activities that deliver a message that reinforces our position to end the virus. Now that New York State leads the nation in cases, we want to also focus on solutions to address the Virus in and around NYCHA developments, as well as Public Housing nationwide. When you look at the unofficial resident count of NYCHA (600,000 – 800,000), they have a population equivalent to the 14th largest city in the country. This is an area that deserves our attention if we are serious about ending the virus.
It is our intent to use this project as a guide to protect students and citizens who are looking for a way to win against the virus. As data continues to come in, we have to be flexible enough to adjust our behavior and do whatever is necessary to be safe and help return our nation back to normal. By working as a team we can accomplish this task, which will definitely save a lot of lives.
