Resources and Initiatives
By joining the groundbreaking Hip-Hop 4 A Healthy NYC — FARS (Food And Restaurant Safety) and E.D.S. (Exercise, Diet & Spirituality) initiatives, "Socially Responsible" Supermarkets, Restaurants, Grocery Stores and Beverage companies are supporting programs that address: Obesity, Poverty, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Racial & Social Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, Substance Abuse, and Gun & Gang Violence Prevention. This "Call To Action" is a "Moral Challenge" for corporations who are in a unique position to improve Healthcare, Public Safety, Graduation Rates, Economic Opportunities and provide Students with the resources to achieve their academic, business, health and personal goals.
In the words of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., "True compassion is more than throwing a coin to a beggar. It demands of our humanity that if we live in a society that produces beggars, we are morally commanded to restructure that society."
WHY SUPPORT THE CHALLENGE?
Students, Parents, Educators, Celebrities, Elected Officials, Community Leaders and Clergy will also be asked to join the FARS and EDS initiatives and support Socially Responsible companies who understand the benefits of being part of the solution and not the problem. Through workshops, seminars, conferences, social media and community engagement, FARS works to improve Food quality and safety while EDS empowers young citizens to use Exercise, Diet and Spirituality to lose weight, prevent sickness and disease, avoid mental illness and live a positive, drug-free lifestyle — because "Your Wealth is Your Health." We strongly believe that "One Hand Washes The Other," so Companies and Individuals who support, or don't support FARS and EDS will be posted on our website and Social Media Platforms. We want students, parents and our partners to know who is WORTHY of their support, because as citizens of this great nation we are all "Challenged" with the task of making this a Healthier, Safer and Better world for students, youth and young adults, with a focus on those living in poor and marginalized communities.
